There is a difference between people who say no one should ship incest and people who just don't personally want to ship incest. That's just personal taste. Yay that you ship incest in Greek Mythology. I personally mostly don't like incest ships. I'm not telling anyone else not to ship, I just don't like myself.

While I think that being willing to engage critically with the media you consume is a good thing, call-out culture an randos on the internet deciding that they are the moral arbiters of fandom are kind of the opposite of a good way to get people to do that.

Yes. Engaging critically is things like questioning the framing that Wonder Woman lived for a very long time with demigod Amazons, but needed a man to come in and teach her how to really be a hero. Vs. pointing out that traditionally the love interest only showing up to assist the hero in his personal growth is a derided role and it was very important that Wonder Woman actually change and grow as a character.

It's also going "Millions of kids learn about Greek/Roman mythology without running out and having sex with their relatives. Calm thy tits."

God, yes. There was a ship-positivity post in my fandom that was going around that was really nice, and then someone had to hijack it and list all the reasons why it wasn't okay to ship the incest ship in the fandom. -__-
