With how slender they are in canon, most of them probably would have thigh gaps. It's true that some of them may not have thigh gaps despite being slender, if they're thigh bones were very narrow-set in their pelvis, or if they genetically happened to carry a lot of their fat in their inner thighs. But on average, I think a woman that thin is likely to have a thigh gap.

But I will say the princesses in that drawing aren't particularly well drawn on the anatomical front. Like, it's not bad fanart by any means, but their legs do look awkward.

I don't know, even in the case of those who do have truly dramatic thigh gaps, the gap isn't noticeable to me except when they're specifically posing to show it off. Given the baggage attached to thigh gaps, I can see why someone would question the anatomy and poses in those drawings. The one of Belle is especially questionable IMO.

Huh. I notice thigh gaps all the time. I also have a minor one myself, though.

I do think in those drawings, the princesses are very curvaceous to have such large thigh gaps, though. Usually when I see someone with a really pronounced thigh gap, they're not very curvy. This artist seems like they wanted the best of both worlds (don't we all).

People without thigh gaps don't notice them?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-27 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. It seems possible that if you have a trait yourself, you're more aware of it in others. But I have no idea of that's actually the case or not.

Nayrt
Are you asking or making a statement shrouded inexplicably as a question? Either way, me with my thunder thighs always notices thigh gaps when I see them.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
More confused as to how the anon I was referring to thought it was relevant to my comment that they themselves have a thigh gap. The way they worded it made it sound as if they were implying that people without thigh gaps notice them less.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you say you don't notice them, but I notice them all the time. Maybe I live somewhere that thigh gaps are more common. Or maybe I just notice them more than you do.

I have no idea if having a trait makes one more likely to notice that trait in others, but it's possible. When I'm insecure about something to do with my body, I definitely notice that body part more in others. But I'm not sure about traits one isn't insecure about. *shrugs*

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'm still not sure what you're insinuating here.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
...um?

I'll clarify, but I'm not sure what's unclear?

Do you have a theory as to why I notice thigh gaps all the time and you rarely do? It honestly doesn't really matter, but I'm getting the feeling you're annoyed about something, and I'm not sure what that's about.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Are you always this evasive, or just when you're angling for drama?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, ok, troll then. Got it.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Takes one to know one.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry but I don't see how ayrt is being evasive. If anything you seem like you're offended (by their thigh gap? By their disagreement with the secret?). Idk anon. I dont have a thigh gap myself, but I'd say they're guilty of a mild humble-brag at worst. Why so mad?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
How am I mad?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Evasive" "trying to start drama" idk anon, but you do seem kinda mad.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I wasn't. But I'll try to sound less mad in the future.

DA

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, same. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda wish I did have a thigh gap. Not enough to stress about it though. But I definitely notice them on others. But I notice traits I like about myself on othe people too, so. *shrugs*

(Anonymous) 2017-08-27 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, people who have thigh gaps tend to be very straight up-and-down in their body shape. If you have curvy hips, regardless of body weight, you tend to have thighs the same shape. To get both, the artist has really distorted their postures.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I could def see the princesses having thigh gaps, but they've made them curvier and given them big thigh gaps, which together looks kind of forced.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
I have a pretty noticeable thigh gap when I am just standing still.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-28 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
That's the thing, some people just have the right bone structure for it, and if those people also happen to be slim - boom, major thigh gap without them even trying.

Honestly, that's cool, anon. I know everybody hates the thigh gap right now because of its popular use as a carrot-at-the-end-of-the-stick in the ED community. But IMO it is a sexy trait, and if you have it naturally without having to starve yourself, I see no reason you shouldn't feel good about it.
