Have you ever tried a recipe you saw on the internet
I once tried a smores with marshmallow peeps recipe and it ended up kinda burnt because I had no idea what I was doing and was in a bit of a rush to do it before mom got home.
It still tasted pretty good. Just didn't look pretty. I also tried some candy corn white chocolate hot chocolate drink which was excellent but the ingredients could be pretty hard to conceal from my parents. Sigh
Now I miss working at a grocery store again.

Re: Have you ever tried a recipe you saw on the internet
Off the top of my head:
*Lamb shanks (good, but needed more liquid)
*Lemon thyme garlic chicken roast (amazing)
*tomato sauce w/pork necks (amazing)
*bone stock (didn't gel as much as expected)
*chicken foot stock (amazing)
*turmeric ginger garlic lemon chicken soup for colds (made with above bone stock - it anti-inflammatoried the fuck out of everything)
*lobster thermador (very good, but a lot of effort)
*yakitori (yum!)
*cream of mushroom soup (though this recipe had so much cream and butter... oh god, it was a stew. it was mushroom cream stew and it is mushroom heaven)
*buffalo chicken chili (freezes very well)
*mulled wine (/purr)
*mulled mead (/purrrrrrr)
*hot buttered rum (/PURRRRRRR)
...I really like to try recipes I find on the internet is where I'm going here.

I've also tried mug brownies but I stopped keeping the ingredients at home because I have no self control and I eat enough junk as it is.

What kind of foods do you like most? I gravitate towards sweet tastes myself.

However I did once use a recipe someone came up with for Lembas (LotR waybread) that was basically a honey-flavoured shortbread, only I used non-gluten flour in it. It worked out fine, if a tad too sweet for my liking.
My other big cooking adventure was into pumpkin pie, and I did refer to an Aussie website for it. It turned out great the first time, less so the second but that wasn't the recipe's fault, more the fault of me deciding to not put it in a pie shell. I probably did change one thing in it - I baked the pumpkin that I used both times. Better flavour in baking it.

(Anonymous) 2017-09-15 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)And the recipe I now use for vegetarian stuffed peppers and tomatoes is a combination of recipes from mylittleexpatkitchen and mygreekdish, among others.
But my God, why would you contaminate hot chocolate with candy corn? That stuff is the devil's work.
