Cautiously looking forward to it. I'll go see it regardless because the trilogy is one of the best reads of the last few years, so we'll see how it translates.

It's possibly the only trailer of the year where the use of "BWWWWWOOOOMMMMMM" is slightly appropriate.

It's really hard to say since we don't know how it's going to be adapted (and a lot of people think the series is unfilmable for various reasons), so I'll say of course read the books if you're into creepy ecological horror and weird. At least read Annihilation. It seems that about half of the people who love Annihilation bounce off Authority (which is superficially a different genre). Acceptance wraps things up but one of the narrative threads really drags.
