103: How on earth do you manage to make your religion part of fandom? Sometimes various charaters' beliefs have been up for discussion, but otherwise?

157: Well, there is always the radical option of watching the actual anime without joining the fandom?

Also, I just can't stop finding it funny when people think anime made in the nineties is old, heh.

167: Your standards are too high? HAHAHAHAHA!

... Sorry. Well, it's not a bad anime, generally, but... ah. Also, their kind of friendship is rather standard for shounen, you know.

170: You know, everytime I see people say "this male" or "that female" without a defining noun afterwards, I always wonder if they're talking about actual humans. It sort of reduces them to objects.

Also, regarding your actual secret; you are in love with a gay man, and you hate slashers? Or just female slashers? What's the connection? You think we're as annoying as men who only like lesbians because of potential threesomes, but since we generally don't have that fantasy, what's the reason?

AHAHAHA! YES, SO MUCH AGREEMENT HERE XD

Female slashers don't understand how men, especially gay men "work," and besides, they're shallow wenches who are only in it for the eyecandy and unrealistic and offensive sexual fantasies. Now that the OP realized that he respects a gay guy a lot and may be sort of gay himself, this annoys him even more. Duh. (What, you never imagined you were in a threesome with your favorite gay male couple? Think of all the fun you could have... while... watching them, I suppose.)

Ah. *sage nod* I am now sufficiently informed.

... Is this "All gay men have a hive mind!" rubbish ever going to disappear?

Re: 103,

It's not so much that religion itself is a vocal part of my fandom (though, for me it is, as religion is an irrevocable part of my life, so it affects how I interact with and view fandom, but that's neither here nor there)
But often on tangential discussions if the subject of religion comes up, it's only so people can bash and show how enlightened they are by being atheist or something. It's not relevant, and it's not necessary, and it often doesn't come up as a response to somebody religious bashing them. It's just a highly unpleasant trend.

I think that in this case the detrimental comments may be a result of both the bloody history of religion, and the content of the actual holy books.

I mean, sure, I know that not every Christian, for example, believe everything that's in the Bible, but how do I know which parts a particular person has chosen to believe in? There are some very questionable parts of all religions.

Still, no reason to assume the worst, of course.
