Are you looking for ways to annoy your neighbors or for stories about annoying neighbors?

Stories about annoying neighbors.

My neighbors have been driving up to their house at like 1am with their music blaring. No point in calling the cops because they take so fucking long to get here that the problem is over before they do.

They don't do it often, but when my neighbors have a bad day at work, they come home and crank up their music really loud for about two or three hours. It's obnoxious, but they do apologize for it the next day. Also, they give me figs from their tree, so I forgive them.

Don't leave your dogs in the garden all day while you're at work! And stop overstuffing your bins so birds pick open the liners and spread your rubbish all over the street.

I actually like my neighbours and there's no drama on our street but those two things bother me no end. I work at home and my dog and I get sick of listening to other dogs bark all day, every day. And rubbish collection days mean constantly picking up rubbish that's blown into the front garden after the birds have been through it all. At least one neighbour a week has an overstuffed bin that won't close.

Fucking college kids living in the rental across the street park in front of our house (we have limited parking) when their driveway and front of their house is empty. You can't even say that it's easier to park here; you'd have to flip around to park in front of our house if you come in the normal traffic way. Normally I would not care, but I have consistently parked in that spot for ten years.

Neighbors on the right have loud parties in the summer from 10-2 in the morning, any day of the week they choose. The people they invite have annoying as fuck laughter (like a Fran Drescher mixed with a donkey, either that or the laugh of that one guy from Spongebob lying about the pickles). Even worse, one of the guys living there is a cop, so calling about a noise complaint doesn't do anything. When they are not partying the neighbors are fine, though.

Neighbors on the left leave their house and yard looking like trash, and the current residents have three teenage boys who enjoy everything from playing xbox and yelling at their game to setting off firecrackers at midnight and scaring the crap out of our elderly dog. The previous neighbors we had consisted of a friendly childfree couple and their two cats, the husband being very meticulous about his lawn and garden. If he saw it now, he would cry, and it's only been two years.

The neighbors behind us is a senior citizen housing building, and they recently removed a tree (on their property) that had been there for years and was the home of many birds because a resident complained it was "blocking her view." The only view she can see is our yard, which I find creepy. :T I'm more concerned for the poor birds, since they keep landing on our fence and looking confused as to where the tree went.

This one is pretty mild, but the woman who used to live upstairs from me would quite frequently put on a DVD and then fall asleep part way through. The movie would finish and return to the main menu, and the menu music would loop over and over. She never had the TV loud, but it was turned up enough that it was just audible. Once I'd realize I was hearing the same clip of music on continuous repeat, I couldn't STOP hearing it and it would drive me nuts.

I feel bad now because this was basically me before I moved in with my partner. I'd be totally up for watching a film, put it on, fall asleep 10 minutes in.

My neighbors ALWAYS keep their back porch light on. No matter who moves in, they keep that light on. Apparently one switch controls the porch light and the stair lights they need to get to their apartment.

So do I. Because my house was broken into last summer.

Loud domestics.
Using the common area for loud parties all night and well into the morning.
Smoking here even though there are signs posted that it's a non-smoking complex.
Leaving actual piles of cigarette butts in their fave smoking spots in the non-smoking complex.
Having loud screaming sex with the windows open so the sounds echo in the common area.
Using power tools at 1am on the wall that is shared between townhouses.
Drag racing up the street with horrible window rattling sound system blaring.
Coming back drunk and throwing up all over the common area.
Not telling people you invite over your apartment number so they buzz all of us to be let in.
Having things delivered to the shared access gate area so everyone has to move or step over your boxes to get in and out.

Fuck me I could go on. I never want to live near other humans again. Give me a cave in the mountains and I'll happily share it with wild animals.

My neighbor has one of those big Halloween displays complete with audio effects: screaming, cackling, etc. I think it's on a motion detector or something? He set this up LAST MONTH. It goes off all the time, even in the middle of the night.

I mean the most annoying thing a neighbor has ever done is accidentally start a fire upstairs from me, resulting in the emergency sprinklers turning on and flooding both their own and my apartment.

Also: have a puppy in our apartment complex that doesn't even allow pets, then leave said puppy alone all the time so its always barking and howling

a downstairs neighbor started a fire and an upstairs one left their water running for several hours and flooded their apartment and caused a lot of leakage in mine (not both at the same time, thank fuck)

I'm probably the annoying neighbor. I have a(n accidental) rooster and my yard looks like crap, and when my mom was alive I used to loudly freak out at her when she got drunk, which for a year or so before she collapsed and ended up in a nursing home was all the time. And I had to call the ambulance for her a lot, so the sirens probably woke everybody up a few times.

I will eventually fix up the yard, but the house itself needs long-delayed maintenence first. And I bought a no-crow collar for the rooster, but I don't know if it'll work, or if he'll be able to stand it. He's pretty circumspect for a rooster, though--he only crows once or twice in the morning when I let him and my hens out, around 7 am--and as I found out the other day, at passing sirens.

On the other hand, I'm also the anon who was complaining about the neighbors repeatedly stealing fruit and one of my trash cans, and buzzing the yard with a drone. And my current next store neighbors occasionally get in such nasty fights that when another neighbor heard what sounded like a car backfiring early one morning, they asked me the a couple days later if I'd seen both halves of the next door couple since, because other neighbor thought maybe one of them had shot the other.

When they sit in their backyard blasting shitty music/a baseball or football game into my bedroom window.

As soon as the temperature drops below "hot", he starts heating his house via the fireplace. Which means autumn to spring, there us always smoke which makes it impossible to open the window in my bedroom.

Argh I already bitched about my neighbors upthread but jfc, my neighbors have bonfires in their backyard all the time and I just want to break out the sprinklers to lay some of the smoke before I asphyxiate.

Screaming arguments at three a.m., complete with someone rampaging away in a car, tires screeching and gravel flying.

Them coming back two hours later to scream some more. All of this happening with kids in the house.

Cooking meth in the basement.

Having a pet (cat) who has kittens who they aren't feeding and don'g give a fuck when she is shot (wounded, lived, i called a local cat rescue and the cat family was vetted and adopted). Having a pet (dog) chained in the yard for hours and hours that whines and barks and cries, and they come outside every half hour or so to scream 'shut up!!' and then go back inside.

Leaving teeny puppy out on the third-story balcony for hours while it cries and barks.

Tossing garbage and fireworks off the third-story balcony at my car.

Coming over and trying to borrow shite. All the time. When a) i don't have that thing you're wanting to borrow and b) i can hear you and your gf talking about how you are robbing people to get stuff to pawn to pay rent so gtfa, please.

Being loud all day long and half night long. Being loud during summer dog hot days until past midnight and from before 5AM again. Having to call the police on each other. Faking suicide and having to call the firemen. Leaving cigarette butts all over the place. Having a loud barbecue party even when barbecue season is already over. Leaving your barbecue in someone else's courtyard. Leaving your garden chair in someone else's courtyard. Putting back your summer chair in someone else's courtyard even after they got it out. Letting your cats run wild and enter other people's kitchen. Spitting gum in their box garden.

Letting their dogs shit just everywhere, all over the sidewalks, so when it rains it turns into a shit swamp.

I am so glad I moved away from there.

Construction and/or repairs when I am trying to go to sleep.
