I think gratuitous slash fiction is annoying in the way that dudes thinking lesbianism is hot is annoying. And I actually think it's demeaning to homosexuals. That being said, I don't have a problem when it's done as a joke to lampoon the whole "slash culture" or when there is obvious gay subtext between two characters.

Like I said, I've got nothing against it. People can read and write whatever the hell they want, what do I care what they're doing?

But I do think that it's gotten ridiculous in the fact that finding good het-fic is a damn chore any more. ;p

I think it's demeaning to homosexuals, too. :/ It makes me believe that slashers are, indeed, a tad bit homophobic (or homo-ignorant may be more accurate) themselves. ...Yet, ironically, they give het fans flack for being "homophobic".
