My job has "floating managers", which means that Manager A is at my store for a week or two, then goes to another store and Manager B comes in for a week, then they leave and Manager C comes in, and so on. It's causing a lot of problems because we all get used to, say, Manager B, and doing things the way Manager B says to do them (and some managers are really fucking nitpicky about us doing shit THEIR WAY), then Manager B moves on and Manager G comes in, doesn't know us or the way Manager B did shit, and now wants us all to do things the Manager G way. Meanwhile, the assistant managers are setting their own rules, everyone has different days off so there's no communication between managers and assistant managers, and everyone is on their own until the next day when Manager M comes in and yells at everyone because we've done all the work the way Manager Z said to do. It's actually kind of funny, but HQ apparently had a meeting about this, and this was what they came up with to increase production. Lol!

What the heck?! That is a truly bizarre management idea. I can't imagine why they would think a constantly shifting management staff would INCREASE production. So odd!

That's... a really surreal concept. How the hell do they expect any kind of consistency? Sounds like a bit of a nightmare. :( Can I ask what kind of work you do?
