Yeah, my brain keeps trying to go there, but I think her clothes and makeup and hair in this movie aren’t gauged primarily to make her attractive, either. Is it better or worse that I don’t find the fish guy attractive because I’d be more into it if he was a reptile of some kind? Although I guess there are warm-blooded fish, so that at least is a little less gross to imagine than cold and slimy. . . Well I haven't seen the movie but the trailer makes it look like her character is intentionally crafted to appear mousy and frumpy... which means there is a chance that at some point in the movie she will glam up. Isn't that how these tropes go?

Seriously OP you do you. It sounds like you're already self-flagellating (there's no reason to be "ashamed" of this, so you don't find her attractive, it's not a big deal, personally I even like the idea of an older, not-idealized woman in the role (maybe you do too even, your secret doesn't really say otherwise, just that you don't find her in particular attractive) and Sally Hawkins doesn't really do it for me either, again it's not a big deal no matter how everybody is getting personally offended over it) and it's such a tame secret.

I wish I could say I'm surprised that this community is acting like your secret said that Sally Hawkins a frumpy dumpy piece of anthropomorphic shit in a human suit who shouldn't get any role EVER because she offends your sensibilities and you think you should totally be catered to in all things, but I'm not. It seems like too many people are taking your secret way too personally and I notice a whole lot of mean-spirited, intentional misreading too. "Oh so maybe you'd like X, there's plenty of monster on playboy bunny action there" and shit like that. Maybe I'm being charitable, but I don't read "Sally Hawkins doesn't do it for me" as "plz give me big tit playboy centerfold in the role".

Tbh the reaction to secrets like this are exactly why I don't write them anymore. This community can get so mean-spirited and ass-blasted over the most tiny of perceived indiscretions. OP, you're not a monster for not finding Sally Hawkins attractive, and I get that seeing like 90% of your kink being fulfilled on screen makes you have a longing that it could have just gone that extra 10% of the way. It's a human feeling. I've had plenty of feelings like this about various series.

I see what you mean and i admit i was shocked to see a more average looking style than a model-like style! I felt after watching all the trailers that it was intentional because she is a mute in the film and treated nastily by of her superiors. I think she is meant to look "undesirable" and depressed, but this monster treats her, ironically, like a human being for the first time, aka(?) with respect. He looks past the frumpy looks and mute-ness that would normally disadvantage her in society because he does not recognise those traits as undesirable, and loves her in his own way for who she is because she is a caring and loving woman, and so they have nurturing effects on each other. I want to go see it badly lol. I hope you enjoy it too if you go see it!

Please go see it anyway? Support a unique project that isn't a damn sequel or remake, support a dark fairy tale, support an offbeat period piece, support exceptional practical effects? None of these things are typical anymore but all aee special and if this does well we may see more...
