Yup, that is an odd and questionable bit of casting to me. But James Earl Jones is Mufasa, so I'm going to give the movie the benefit of the doubt.

I'm ... semi okay with that, especially if they give her some of the Broadway songs on the sound track.

Otherwise i"m kind of like "......sure." if it requires her talking too much.

Meh... I mean, yay for casting actual Mufasa as Mufasa, but considering TLK is one of my least favourite Disney movies and the highlight to me was Jeremy Irons as Scar and the hyenas, I won't be running to see it.

Least favorite? Wow, I think you may be the first person I've ever seen not love the Lion King.

Yeah I don't know why it's just 'meh' on my radar. Aladdin will always be my #1 Disney, most likely. So I am super nervous about them LAing that, especially since to me, Robin Williams IS the Genie. :/

Well, i don't hate it or anything, but it's not up there in my top five, either. There are other Disney movies i like a whole lot more.

Yeah, I'm gonna miss Irons hamming it up.

Meh. I don't see the point of remaking it unless it is wildly different. At least The Jungle Book had an actual live action component and a different story.

How is this going to work? It's a movie about animals. Is it going to be about people now? I'm confused.

So are these people just going be voice actors?

Yes. It's computer animated, but the animals are photorealistic.

Man I already had issues watching a cgi Beast in BatB, it was like the cg took a big leap backward, either that or the actor didn’t move his face much. I’m having a really hard time imagining a “live action” Lion King unless they ditch the lion part and just have the voice actors play people. Otherwise it’ll just be uncanny valley cgi the whole time.

Judging by the way Dan Stevens usually acts, I'm going to blame the CGI. Also think they leaned too much on his pretty blue eyes.

This is probably only interesting to like...3 people on here but the podcast Limetown is getting a second season after THREE years. It looks like they finally gave up on their TV deal.

YAY! This is such great news! I mean, I hoped their TV deal would be successful, but I hated that there was no new Limetown stuff out there.

John Oliver voicing Zazu is pretty perfect... though I am disappointed it's going to be a CGI mess at all, instead of doing the Broadway version of humans in badass tribal masks.

I'm going to see it just for John Oliver. I fucking love John Oliver.

ia it's such a pity they aren't doing something more like the Broadway version. Imagine the costumes they could come up with for a movie, when there are less practical restraints on costuming.

How many more 'Big Names' in Hollywood are going to be revealed to be sexual predators?
