Honestly that might be a good idea, especially because it sounds like it doesn't quite have anything to do with what you're aiming to do.

I end up taking my address out so at least I can get people on the phone before they go "Oh we don't give a fuck about actually relocating and training someone".

I should do that! My sister lives in a much larger city (Tulsa) and I might be able to get a job there and live with her while I find an apartment. The only think that is keeping me out of Tulsa is how awful the traffic is. :/

I don't know the specifics of your situation but I do think that moving to a larger place is generally going to make it *much* easier to find a job. So I think that's definitely something to strongly consider.

I've heard of people getting a PO box, or using a friend's address, as their address on an application if they don't live in the city the job is in.

I do that! I use my relative's address in an Atlanta suburb...no dice yet.
