House is a super weird example to use for that, since the music was mostly already "dated," i.e. classic rock or 90s alt rock, at the time the episode aired.

Another medical show, like ER or Scrubs, might have been a better a better example since they tended to use music that was current when the episode aired for iconic scenes. With House, you've got me wondering why you're cringing more at Van Halen or the Rolling Stones or the Lemonheads now than you were 10 years ago.
