Dude you are SO NOT ALONE. I have always, ALWAYS spent like... every minute of mental downtime which I have daydreaming/telling myself stories and fantasizing and stuff. I never even realized it was weird until, oh, a couple of years ago, and I've felt like a freak ever since -- but at the same time I've had that exact same "... but what do people THINK about all the time?! o_o" outlook XD

I've done that as far back as I can remember. Epic, intricate stories about my favorite characters, books, movies, fics. It's what gets me to sleep at night, and it takes up all the time I don't need to think about other things. If I couldn't fall back on my internal stories, I'd probably be a neurotic mess.

Like you, I felt a bit weird when I realized other people don't do this. But you know what? I feel sorry for them, thinking about laundry, or lunch or whatever it is they think about all day, when they could be constructing a grand, elaborate fantasy in their head. It must be so dull.

Here's my question. And I am completely serious. If other people have so much time on their hands: not thinking about what the Doctor is up to, what those guys from Primeval are doing, how everyone on Next Gen is getting on, and they don't spend their time following like 17 television shows, 23 comic books, reading novels constantly, and keeping up with all the respective fandoms, why the fuck hasn't SOMEBODY cured cancer yet?

I know what I do with my time. But normal people have no excuse.
