(Anonymous) 2008-06-24 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)I've done that as far back as I can remember. Epic, intricate stories about my favorite characters, books, movies, fics. It's what gets me to sleep at night, and it takes up all the time I don't need to think about other things. If I couldn't fall back on my internal stories, I'd probably be a neurotic mess.
Like you, I felt a bit weird when I realized other people don't do this. But you know what? I feel sorry for them, thinking about laundry, or lunch or whatever it is they think about all day, when they could be constructing a grand, elaborate fantasy in their head. It must be so dull.
