I thought I'd grow out of being a fujoshi too, OP. Yeah, that didn't happen. All that changed was that I started looking for stories that are less fucked up. I still like that stuff every now and then, but now I mainly want more realistic stories with healthier relationships.

I thought I'd left my fujoshi days behind me since nothing modern was pressing my buttons. Then a gaming site I play on publicized an upcoming explicit online game with BeBoy behind the storyline.

And I became a squeaking, squealing puddle of hormonal goo.

Apparently I just needed the right inspiration. So I'll be turning 40 next year, and have re-discovered I love yaoi as much as I ever did as a 20-mumble-year-old.

You don't stop liking things when you turn 30. I've been in fandom a long-ass time. I started getting super invested in things in the days before the internet, when I was a kid and I couldn't find any kind of fandom outlet, just writing stories for myself.

Now I'm into my 30s and while some of my fandoms themselves have changed, the main things I like are the things I've always liked.

I don't know why people think they'll get over it. I never thought that. I don't tell people irl, and my interest will go down when I have something (or someone) to keep me busy, but the same things turn me on when I'm 32 that did when I was 16.

Same here, OP. Same here. I've already reached the 30's mark but you wont take my yaoi. It's my happy place. Also something something you can take the fujo out of the yaoi but you can't take the yaoi out of the fujo or something.

The only difference is that I don't actively engage in fandoms anymore unless I know the other person is old enough both physically AND mentally.

Well, I'm 31 and still after all these years I'm into yaoi so much so that I made it my job in a sense. For work purpose I corrupt children to read the awesome stuff I do and heck, I actually get paid. Nuff said.
