I've never cared at all about Dream Daddy, but I would SO play a f/f version of it!

There’s this I guess. (Too bad none of the women are my type.)

The biggest issue I'd see is that a lot of Mom stereotypes and jokes tend to be crueler than dad jokes? There is, as far as I know, no male equivalent to 'I want to speak to your manager haircut' for dads.

I could see it falling way too easily into PTA Bitch Tammy, Minivan Driving Maggie, AntiVax Jill. There are a lot fewer Good Mom stock characters and exaggerations tend to get sexist and cruel really fast.

I think the concept is more about gay/lesbian stock characters rather than dad/mom jokes

My understanding is that this is the case with Dream Daddy, at least

I havent played Dream Daddy but yeah, considering Goth Dad isn't any type of preexisting dad stereotype I know of, it doesn't seem like a distaff counterpart would need to fall into sexist mom tropes.

The female characters in the first game were well written and likable and I don't think it would be that hard to create interesting female characters. While it was a humorous game, it wasn't all about stereotypes and jokes. The parental relationships were heartwarming and the characters had depth. My (I'm not the OP) issue with Dream Daddy is that it was advertised as a romance game and some of the paths ended with "We decided we weren't ready for a real relationship" which... isn't what most people want out of these types of games, or at least I don't? Some people probably liked it. I'd be down for an f/f game like this (would like more dating sims that aren't set in a Japanese high school, thanks, and having it centered around characters in their 30s-40s is also a bonus) but I'd want to know ahead of time that I wasn't getting a happy ending. That was my only big disappointment with Dream Daddy.

I haven't played the game, so all the stuff I saw about it was how it was inspired by a group of people talking about dad jokes and dad steryotypes and dadsonas. Like it wasn't just meant to be a middle-aged dude dating game, but specifically playing around with and having fun with the whole dad stereotypes. I don't mind being wrong, but that's what I was going on
