Re: What BAD movie did you force your parents to watch all the time as a kid?

My dad has mostly good taste. A lot of classic scifi stuff. But he did make me watch PeeWee's Big Holiday at one point. I hated that so much.

Occasionally we'd all sit down and watch one of the romantic comedies my mother was fond of. Bleh.

Just doesn't work for me. I'm very, very particular about comedy. I don't find most of it funny.

Oh god, my dad made me watch the PeeWee movies repeatedly as a kid, even though I'm pretty sure he knew they creeped me right out. He still maintains that they're awesome now.

DA

I don't think that was the question. There wasn't anything you loved that you had to watch like a million times that your parents just put up with? Some bad straight-to-VHS Disney sequel or something? My brother and sister had these annoying Disney Sing-A-Long tapes that were fine (not good, but okay) the first few times and then so grating every time after that.

Not really? The things I watched over and over were mostly the Star Wars OT or episodes of Star Trek. I liked some disney movies, but I don't recall the sequels even existing when I was a kid.

ayrt

They didn't start the straight-to-video movie sequels until the 90s, but they did have DuckTales videos in the late 80s. But, no Care Bears or Rainbow Brite or My Little Pony? You've clearly missed an experience here, a bad one, but an experience.

Nope. I saw a decent amount of crappy old B scifi movies, but I like those. I was a nerd from the time I could talk pretty much since my dad used to read classic scifi to my sister and I when we were little, though it never stuck for her. I did watch some cartoons like Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab, but those were awesome.
