None of the current lore was planned from the start, OP. All the R76/First Strike, Pharah being half-Canadian, Blackwatch Genji, the entirety of Moira that basically retcons half the lore (this one got me a little bit pissed, but still). Some of them stem because of popular fandom headcanons that they got pressured into making/changing. And I don't mean to say that it's a bad thing, either.

I mean, look at TF2. That was entirely barren of anything lore/story at first, and then a decade later we actually do have a confirmed father-son relationship that used to be a running joke in the fandom.

lmao are you one of the idiots who believes Mercy made Reaper and Blizz TOTES RETCONNED IT by introducing Moira? because literally none of that was ever canon or even implied in canon.
