We've had this discussion before, but I'm interested and have a new fandom with characters I hate.

I've been getting into Chicago Med. I love the show, but I hate Will. I can't forgive him for ignoring a woman's DNR in season 1. He's so sanctimonious about things when he's clearly in the wrong. Nice to know I just hate this trait, whether in a female character like Cameron from House or Sara from CSI, or a male. I was starting to wonder whether it only bothered me in women.

How far have you gotten? I feel like Will gets less annoying as the show goes on, but Natalie gets worse, and I basically can't stand April at this point.

Darcy in the Thor movies. I. Hate. Darcy. I hate her in the movies and I REALLY hate her in fanfics.

i'm not really into marvel, but it always weirded me out just how often people seem to put darcy in fics solely to use her as some glorified self-insert character.

i mean, i don't get why they can't just be honest with themselves and tag it as "hot mcu dude/reader", already.

Book Sandor Clegane for being cruel to Sansa and acting like he's morally superior to the guards who beat her.

I hated Coulson in the MCU, but thankfully he's shuffled off into his own show and won't turn up in the movies again so, silver lining. I will never understand why fandom fawned over him though, he was such a bland character.

Billy in Stranger Things, who I do think is supposed to be deliberately unlikable to an extent. But I am not here for woobfying that fuckhead at all and if he gets offed next season I will cheer.

Barbra Gorden in DC comics has always irritated me and I can never figure out why, just for whatever reason every version of her I've seen in cartoons or read in comics just does not click with me. It's not seething hatred or anything but ugh, I'm not a fan.

And it's not hate but I am very much over Tony in the movies, I still don't mind him in his solo-films but he was never my favourite and I don't need him everywhere thanks.

I like Tony, but my issue with him is how little growth he has had. All the other characters have grown and changed (except for the really new ones, so I excuse them). Tony just keeps going back to the same place.

Seconding Billy from Stranger Things. I mean, in the show's defense, I don't think they wrote him as morally ambiguous in any way, nor do I think they have any intention of woobifying him. They wanted a human villain, so that's what they wrote. The worst I could say about the show's handling of Billy is that I just don't feel he was necessary to the story and the writing didn't do much to make him feel necessary.

OTOH, it does seem like a lot of viewers want to see him redeemed somehow, and yeah, I'm so not here for that. I was honestly rooting for Max to skewer him in the leg with the nail-bat, and was kind of annoyed when she didn't.

Jonathan in Stranger Things. He was fucking useless this season and mostly useless in season 1. I think if had died in S1 nothing about this season would be different.

Anders in Dragon Age 2 and Oikawa in Haikyuu are the first ones that came to mind.

I would say Anders but the last act of Dragon Age 2 spoiled the whole game for me.

Maybe hate is too strong, but Sam in Dear Black People was ugh so annoying. She's such an joyless hypocrite. By the end of the show I loved everyone but her. I can't stand SJW behavior.

Chris and Mila from Yuri on Ice. Chris is annoying, and Mila has no personality but lots of fans who think she's the greatest ever because she's female and pretty.

Anakin Skywalker - It's not Hayden's acting or Lucas' dialogue. It's how abusive he is to Padme in TCW and how his fans just say that's OOC for him instead of actual canon.

Finn - Fandom and the actor turned me off.

Turin - Being cursed doesn't excuse him from his own decisions. He brings a lot of shit on himself and so many people end up paying the price for him. Plus I NOTP Beleg/Turin so much.

Movie!Thranduil, Movie!Elrond, Movie!Faramir - I adore their book counterparts so these are a slap in the face.

Nell - The only character I've ever been tempted to call a Mary Sue. They just kept piling on all the things she could do at the expense of all the other characters.

Brooklyn 99 is an interesting case for me. I've always enjoyed the show, but for the first couple seasons, I actively hated most of the cast...but there was enough of Holt and Terry (the ones I didn't) to make up for it. Once Amy and Jake got together, they had an enjoyable relationship, and Diaz and Boyle have gotten tolerable in the last couple seasons.

But Scully and Hitchcock still annoy me, whenever they're on screen, and this season's lack of Gina is delightful. I don't really miss Pimento, either, though he was lightly used enough to avoid being too much of an annoyance.

I liked most of the cast from the beginning, but Holt and Amy have always been my absolute faves while everyone else shuffled around for the third spot(Terry has always been a sweetie though). I agree that everyone's gotten better since and it's kind of fun that in a comedy show there's like actual lasting character growth, shit like that usually regresses for the sake of jokes. But it's nice.

Hitchcock and Scully though... fucking hell. Like I get that they're supposed to be annoying but Christ, they're very good at it. Doesn't mean that it doesn't annoy the fuck out of me though, the less screen-time they have the happier I am.

Rollins in SVU, like the show has gone downhill anyway but I feel like it's past time for her to go. She was messy before but now she's just boring.

Basically every “mascot” character in Bandai Namco’s Tales games.

Stranger Things 2: Mike. Unfortunately, the only people who bothered to check him on his behavior were Hopper, who really didn't know what was up, and his parents who were even dumber.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall: Blitz. Yes, he's supposed to be annoying. However, he offers little utility beyond being a free decker.

Gina from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I've been really enjoying this season a lot more than I have the past couple and I think the lack of Gina is the reason.

Bernadette from the Big Bang Theory. I wouldn't exactly say I love the show because I'm mostly watching it out of habit at this point, but I don't mind most of the characters. Except her, she just irritates the hell out of me.

April, Noah, and Ava from Chicago Med. Being annoying must be a family trait for April and Noah and Ava's just manipulative and evil (plus she's clearly going to eventually get together with Connor, which I'm not looking forward to because I really like him with Robin, as unpopular an opinion as that apparently is).

Karen Palmer from Lethal Weapon because I FUCKING HATE HILARIE BURTON. Okay, that's probably not fair because I don't know her and she may very well be a perfectly lovely person IRL, but I've intensely hated every character of hers I've ever seen in anything, and I'm pretty close to quitting the show because of her. She's the reason I haven't watched past the first two episodes of this season and I'm seriously debating deleting the episodes from my DVR and just not bothering anymore.

Lucious from Empire. I mean, I get the point that he's the villain, but he's done some seriously awful things to his family (especially Jamal) and I don't understand how anyone still has a relationship with him. (I'm way behind so he might've done more horrible things to someone else at this point, but the show just isn't interesting me as much as it did in the first season so I haven't watched any of this season and the last half or so of last season.)

Both of the main characters from Bones, but especially Booth, which is why I quit watching the show a few seasons before it ended. He just reminded me way too much of religious, sexist, controlling asshats I know. Brennan was annoying too because of how arrogant she was, but she didn't bother me quite as much as him.

There are probably more because I watch a ton of shows and a bunch of characters just really annoy the fuck out of me, but those are the ones I can think of.

I love How to Train Your Dragon. I can't stand the twins or Snotlout 95% of the time.

Ronaldo from Steven Universe, but everyone hates him.

I love everyone in B99, except Hitchcock and Scully, although even they can make me laugh every now and then. I wasn't a huge fan of Pimento, either, though I admit that it's kinda 'cause Rosa/Gina is my OTP. I also dream of the day when The Vulture gets his comeuppance.
