Draw it, write it, tag it properly, ignore the haters. Turn off anon messaging. Delete any hate without posting it. What are they going to do to you?

Agreed. I mean take some safety precautions. No "I am a 34 cis female who lives at 123 Lane and my greatest fears are... and here's a bunch of selfies of me outside my work place" blog headers, but you should do it.

I've kind of been there, I was sticking to making 'safe' content, and after a while it started getting really burnt out and angry about it to the point I couldn't even enjoy it anymore. So I made a bunch of 'problematic shit' and when I didn't respond to the comments calling me a sick fuck they stopped coming and people still liked my non-problematic content too.

If you share your address and full name on a place like Tumblr, you are a fool. Do they not give kids the internet stranger danger talk anymore? I guess Facebook has gotten rid of that fear.

They don't! As an Internet Old, it's really weird - we went through this period of sharing pretty openly because there just weren't that many people online and we were mostly using university addresses, to NEVER TELL ANYONE ANYTHING YOU WILL DIE, to Facebook level oversharing.

I am, as another Internet Old, irritated by this too. I got online in my early 20s, around 1999, and the "Keep your identity secret!" mindset was still firmly around at that time. It's a major reason why I use the name "Mimi Sardinia", because it's not my RL name. I also don't have my RL name on my Facebook account.

Thank you!
The thing is I'm on twitter and I made it into this little tight circle of mutuals with similar tastes and one main ship, and I dearly love everyone and enjoy it a lot, but I'm starting to 'suffocate' in it when it comes to creative content, because every time I come up with silly or funny or interesting idea for a random ship art I remember that oh mutual A hates this ship, mutuals B and C block everyone who posts this ship, and it's... yeah.
You gave me an excellent idea though, I could easily make a socket account on tumblr and post everything there. Few of my twitter mutuals have tumblr, but they probably blocked the tags they hate long ago. I hope.

Yeah, sock it and enjoy! It really sucks to feel like you're walking on fandom eggshells.

And rational people are entirely capable of going "I don't like this thing, you do like this thing. Lets just agree that I don't spew negativity at you and you don't spew positivity at me." When it comes to fictional fandom junk.
