Probably the teacher who called me an idiot TO ANOTHER TEACHER.

(I almost didn't tell anyone about it, but a friend told me I should tell my parents. They were not happy. My dad said he sent her a letter "that will make her cry.")

This homophobic asshat at work who's a "good Christian" and loves trying to convert everyone to his religion but thinks it's bad to be "accepting of everyone" if that includes gay people.

I have terrible memory so I’m probably missing some, but this one white boy I had in my Art History was a total whiny jerkass. He was the fucking definition of everyday (as opposed to ridiculously wealthy white boy) white boy privilege. He came to class, never paid attention, slept, and joked around in the back row. He complained about his tax dollars being wasted on our clas and “why did he have to pay for such a useless thing as art history?”

When he brought this up, our class was learning about how art was used to protest and/or advocate certain political and social aspects like early 1900s USA or Nazi Germany...which we had just recently finished.

He was condescending, obtuse, rude, and disrespectful to our professor (who had once been a refugee) and to our class in general.

I swear to god I could feel the resentment and anger of other students who weren’t as privileged as him seeping in the air when everybody turned to look at him the moment he started complaining. I had to bite my tongue to keep from making a bitter as fuck comment while he whined to our Professor.

The old lady at the hairdresser who hit the receptionist with her car when she hit the gas instead of the brake. The receptionist broke all four limbs and will be disabled and unable to work for the rest of her life. And the lady comes in a few months later to get her hair done and while she's trying to get an appointment complains about her license being taken away.

You may be old, but that doesn't mean you get to be an asshole.

Yup. I was there when she was complaining. I was shocked at how the staff kept their cool. I would have punched her. As it was, I had an expression of shock on my face that I'm surprised she didn't react to.

Please tell me someone chewed her out for that one. Or at least said flatly "the woman you hit can't work for the rest of her life, but sure."

(Of course, she might already know that and just not care.)

I believe they refused to make her an appointment, but they were super polite about it.

Ah. I was hoping they pointed out to her how horrible that was, but (a) that wouldn't have been professional, and (b) if she was already that horrible, she may not have cared, sadly, which would've just made them feel worse.

This one guy who used to sponge money off my dad. A lot of people used to do that but most of them were at least grateful. He was just an asshole who would yell at my dad and he is one of the only people I know that I honestly wish bad things would happen to.

My year 5 science teacher who I swear hated kids. He would pick on bright students during pop-quizzes and would ask them increasingly harder questions until said kid didn't know the answer, then would belittle them in front of the whole class for being 'stupid'.

He would also give out detentions for the stupidest shit, like getting out pencils to write with while he was talking because the rustling was 'distracting'.

I have no idea how he didn't get fired.

Unfortunately in my middle school he was an unavoidable nightmare, like the kids the year above would warn us 'you're going to get Mr. Kelly for science, and you're going to hate it' and we thought they were exaggerating...

They were not, and we understood why they warned us(and we warned the new year 5's when they came up, just ugh, fuck Mr. Kelly).

Ugh, teachers. My middle school band teacher accused me of cheating on a practice sheet and dragged me into the principal's office. Several middle school teachers accused me of cheating on tests since I already had depression and therefore often forgot to do homework or to turn it in.

I think that if there is a hell, there would be a special place in it for teachers who mistreat kids. Anyone abusing kids really. But teachers are supposed to instill a love of learning and actually teach kids, not bully them and make them hate school or particular subjects forever. I stopped playing the flute because of that teacher, and gave up piano too. Playing wasn't fun anymore.

God so many of us in year 5 never bothered asking questions or learning with him because he made it so un-fun. Like a few of us would sit with the textbook and try and learn what we could but we'd avoid getting his attention at all costs.

It wasn't worth it.

Yeah if you're teaching kids you should be intending to idk, make it fun? Make the journey of knowledge inspiring so that the kids will want to seek out more things? Not according to some teachers I had during my childhood.

Lol, all I can think is how much your teacher sounds like Muggle!Snape.

Trust me when I first read Harry Potter every time Snape was doing something fucky my internal monologue was going: 'this is Mr. Kelly'. As a result I really never liked Snape much, I had a teacher like him, it was awful.

Retail employee who stole from the till and tried to frame another employee for it.

Dude in my 11th grade classes and then at work (yeah I had to deal with the bastard twice)

He was the definition of redneck. Like....seemed to think shooting things was the way to handle things. Mocked me about my nerdy interests and taunted me about doing fanfiction because I couldn't get a date. (of course that bounced because, I was a late bloomer in sexuality and had NO desire to spend more time than I had to with most of my classmates)

Then when we worked together, he still had that 'stuck in high school' mentality of 'nerds, losers and geeks' and ridiculed me both on the sales floor and in front of my coworkers because I still wrote fanfiction and thus was a "loser".

Nobody cared but him (and at the time, me)

Not only was he a dick, he was a stupid dick.
