I'm not mad, but I'm confused about another season because the last season wrapped things up so neatly and I feel like another season would just be dragging it out too long. Also, all the characters are now in different places so idk what focus the show would have

No way i loved this thing and i wasnt even a huge fan! It was just fun to make friends thru it and enjoy watch them having their own fun writing fic and drawing art for it, Im actually still friends with one! Well she's my best friend now. I cant wait to tell her the news to this. LOL okay i just did and she's excited too! This was so unexpected

There's gonna be a season 3? That's cool, but what's supposed to happen in it? The second season wrapped things up and even had a future-epilogue, didn't it?

Since Yuri on Ice really raised the bar, season 3 is gonna have to go real gay to catch up. YoI had a kiss, I'm calling it now, Free3 will feature a BJ scene with Haru and Makoto or Rin.

While I'm extremely cool with the idea of Free doing a time jump and going for an Olympic setting, I'd just note it definitely does sound like they are Free! On Ice. Which I'm not opposed to, especially if they go for canon gay. Just noting.

My personal irritation has multiple reasons. For one, S2 was a nice wrap up so it’s unnecessary and comes a long time after (and so seems like a cash grab). For another, the storyline seems to have strayed from the heart of the original seasons in the recent movies, so I’ve got low expectations of subsequent media being in the same vein as I loved before. And finally, they fired the original director of the first two seasons for reasons unknown so it definitely won’t be the same in heart and focus as before.

I love Free! so much but it never fails to astonish me how such a cute and innocent show about friendship and teamwork trigger so much butthurt? For that matter why did it attract such a cancerous fanbase that fights each other. There is nothing in the show that seems it would attract that kind of fanbase.

The same reasons Voltron has a very cancerous fanbase: shipping wars and fans wanting LGBT representation in the media and wants no more heterosexual related stuff (MakoHaru in Free and Klance in Voltron)

In honesty, I agree with you. There's nothing in "Free!" and Voltron for the matter that would attract such a fanbase.

Good point. Just put hot guys on any show and boom! Crazy fanbase. Worked for Doctor Who (9-11th doctors) and any other non-animated shows you've mentioned.
