Crazy, right? It's as if she has a whole life and career outside of her role on Supernatural that people might have opinions about.

OK.

What are the things that she did in her life and career outside Supernatural that led people to hate her?

I assume it was something really heinous, right?

If only.

/shrug Dunno. I have no such strong feelings about her myself. But I know that since she's done a lot of things besides Supernatural, that leaves a lot of room for people to develop opinions both negative and positive about her, so I'm not "surprised" that everyone isn't judging her on a single role. I also know that you don't have to do anything particularly heinous to earn fandom's poor opinion. Are you new to fandom, maybe? If so, that's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Sure, fandom having poor opinions about things isn't exactly surprising. But at times, the hatred for Day goes way beyond anything that's expected or proportionate or that can be described as just typical fandom stuff. It's really personal.

And even then, I don't think it's especially mysterious why she gets that kind of hate from some people. But I also don't think we should just shrug our shoulders and say, oh, well, some nerds despise her because she's a woman who plays video games, and that's just how it is and we have to accept that.
