I wouldn't want any of them, but mind-reading would be particularly burdensome if you couldn't turn it off at will.

Immortality. I don't want to outlive everyone I love. D: And what if you can't be killed at all? If the Earth implodes am I just floating in space constantly suffocating?

Yeah, true immortality, where you literally live forever, is a deeply horrifying idea to me. I would absolutely love to be, like, soft immortal - non aging, and largely invulnerable but still capable of dying if/when I chose to. I mean, outliving everyone all the time would definitely be hard to come to terms with, but I'd absolutely want to give it a try, and if I couldn't come to terms with outliving everyone I could choose to kill myself.

But literally being eternal? Just the thought of it is suffocating to me.

Flying. I'm scared of heights. That power would suck.

Maybe if you could fly, you wouldn't be scared of heights? For me, I think it's not so much the heights as the fear of falling from heights - so if I can fly, maybe it wouldn't be so scary?

I have vertigo which gets worse when I'm higher up. So no, being able to fly wouldn't help. It isn't just fear of falling for me, it is fear of heights in general. When I fly, I'm actually more scared of the plane flipping than crashing.

I read that a fear of heights is actually one of the very few, if not the only, phobia you can be born with so it makes sense that something like confrontational therapy wouldn't always work for it.
