I don’t know what you’re talking about but Natalie threw a bitch fit and left the franchise so Jane was never going to be Thor.

What happened with that, is there any information on what caused it?

No concrete info last I checked (which was months before the movie came out), but Patty Jenkins, who Portman pushed to be director of Thor 2, left due to creative differences two months in. It's possible that this was a reason Natalie decided to leave since Jenkin's idea was to give Jane a bigger role in the film. I think Natalie was dissatisfied with her role in the films as a damsel in distress and maybe felt that wasn't going to change. That being said Jenkins directed Wonder Woman so maybe Portman had a point?

Personally I'm glad she left because I think that allowed them to free Thor from Earth and go to other planets. Although Portman did say she was open to doing more MCU films in the future so if they wanted to do female Thor she could decide to do it, but I'm not sure how good of an action hero Portman would be.

I'm mostly glad she left because as much as Portman is a solid character actress, she is incredibly bad at acting romantic relationships. (I also thought it seemed like she was feeling like superhero movies are beneath her/not serious enough to give her best performance.)

I think there is some truth to that since she decided to quit around the time she won the Oscar for Black Swan. Although at the same time around that time she was talking about retiring in general. In the end she just went on hiatus, but maybe she was just tired of acting at the time.

I'm only skeptical because any time an actor or actress chooses not to come back the rumor mill says it must be because they hate superhero films. The same happened with Hugo Weaving who has come out and said that he enjoyed playing the Red Skull outright, yet still people think that he hated the role.

And nothing of value was lot. Nothing against Natalie but Jane was a terrible character.

+1

All the human characters were a huge drag on the Thor movies tbh.
