I think it's a bit of a stretch, because there's almost a half-century of fuckery over 50 years of comics that isn't going to be touched by MCU.

Mostly I think it's part of the holy trinity of superhero drama:

1. powers
2. family
3. teammates/sidekicks

It's the same formula since Luthor first kidnapped Lois Lane and gave Superman a kryptonite necklace. Heck, even Logan used the formula.
