Yeah, I'd think less of Chris Pratt if he were a trophy hunter or raised his livestock in bad conditions, but all accounts say he treats those animals with respect before and after they die.

Ironically, I just watched a documentary about how plants adapt to outward influences like getting injured/eaten by sending out chemicals that could be interpreted as 'cries for help' so apparently, plants don't enjoy getting eaten either.

Apparently Chris Pratt actively raises animals for consumption. I'm not saying that I think that's wrong, I'm saying that I think that's the reason they're protesting Pratt specifically.

It seems like they picked him because he raises the animals himself, but that's no worse (and probably much better) than buying it in the supermarket. But PETA and their ilk love to single people out.

I'm a vegetarian but I don't pay any damn attention to what celebrities eat.

I sort of feel like whatever this scandal is, you are misrepresenting it. Fandom is crazy and all, but when most people eat meat, I am unconvinced there's a "controversy" involved with this actor.

Unless he claimed to like, eat dolphin/whale/dogs/cats or something else more specifically objectionable.

People are sometimes. I fully believe that most vegans and vegetarians are actually nice and not morons, but then there will be some that approach it with such zealotry that I'm pretty sure the only animal they don't like are humans.

I think most vegans and vegetarians are fairly reasonable... or at least, not on the level of harassing others who don't conform to their beliefs. Unfortunately, the relatively small percentage of them who ARE on the level of harassing non-vegetarians/vegans are very, very vocal and very, very crazy.

I'm going vegan (vegetarian currently) and I don't give one single, solitary shit that people eat meat. None of my damn business, and photos/videos of meat aren't that bothersome. Am I supposed to withhold photos of salads and vegetable stir fry dishes because some people refuse to touch veggies with a ten foot pole? Nope! Fuck that noise. It's just food, guys. We all have our taste.
