IKR? And it's not like it isn't widely regarded as one of the most classic TV shows of all time or anything. It's timeless.

It would have helped if there had been more girls in the damned game. And one wasn't jailbait.

Even though Tifa was added in just for that purpose, there's still not enough girls to balance out the ratio. Six guys to three girls =/= not even enough, esp. since Yuffie was optional. Ok, to be fair, if we take out the optional characters, it's still 5:2, with one having to leave the party for good due to plot purposes.

But then you could always ship the good girls with the bad ones. Elena and Scarlet. I guess. XD

Still. AerTi ftw. I don't think it's possible to ship Cloud/Aerith and not have a soft spot for Aerith/Tifa since she and Cloud are almost the same person, if you substitute boobs for a peen. XD

Which isn't for everyone, but don't go calling the Doctor a Sue unless you're going to call Gilgamesh, Hercules, and Jesus the same, am i rite?

But still, I was probably leaning towards the latter.

My first relationship had a 17-year age difference (I met him at 17, he was 34 - we hooked up after my 18th birthday though, so NO ONE could put up a fuss), and things like this make my eyes ROLL AUDIBLY. The only serious issue age caused for us was the shitstorm it kicked up among friends who couldn't simply be pleased for us.

If someone can't imagine being in a relationship with a large age difference, that's fine. But people need to STOP trying to impose their squick on the rest of the world. (The, "divide by two and add 7," rule FTL.)

By that logic, then that means Aerith got in the way of Cloud/Tifa for me. And, really, she didn't; if anything, she brought them together. I used to ship Cloud/Aerith, hated Tifa, thought she got in the way of that pairing, blah blah blah. But I was fourteen and by all means completely irrational. Gave it a couple years, grew up a little, decided Tifa was my favorite character (with Aerith a close second), began shipping Cloud/Tifa, though I have a tiny bit of a soft spot left for Cloud/Aerith as well.

...Point is, you can have your ships and like other characters, too. Stop looking at them as "GETTING IN THE WAY!!!" and try to find other things you like about them. The way I saw it, when I'd begun liking Tifa (and was making the transition to Cloud/Tifa shipper), I saw Tifa as his friend who clung so desperately to him because he was all she had left of Nibelheim.

XD Though for the most part, at least in the FFVII fandom, I can consider myself sane(r than the average fan)! I've been on both sides of OMG CLOUD/TIFA VS. CLOUD/AERITH so I can see both sides.

Christ, if you think you're the only one that feels that way you obviously haven't been around fandom very long. It's actually pretty fucking annoying how many damn people feel that way. You're not original in the least, sweetheart.

Ah, I guess I should explain. Most of my friends kinda go 'WTF' at what I like. They've done it with some of my favorite games, so it's become habit for me to not even discuss certain things with them anymore. ^^;
