(Anonymous) 2018-02-08 07:39 am (UTC)(link)setting things back to rights.
That's something I don't get. What needed to be set to rights? Why did the clock need to be rewound? Did people really hate the Magnussen episode or something? I ship Johnlock, but even then, I don't see how ~*it was all a dream!*~ would contribute anything. If it was about Mary, well, she died, so...? I like the fact that the characters aren't in the same place they were in the first two seasons. I don't think maintaining a status quo works well with the three-episodes-every-couple-of-years format.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-08 08:00 am (UTC)(link)They wanted Mary to be confirmed as evil, the marriage cancelled, and the baby fake or not John's. The fourth episode theory was started by TJLC shippers.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-08 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)Mary doesn't need to be evil. While I wanted Johnlock to be endgame, I thought she added something to the show and the characters. I thought the way Sherlock came to respect her as a peer while there was still this sort of tension was interesting.
I usually have no interest in parenting fic or when TV shows add babies to the mix, but I find the idea of Sherlock and parenting both hilarious and adorable, so I'm entirely cool with Rosie Has Two Daddies.
One thing I didn't like, shipping wise, was John beating Sherlock, and that's not something to be swept under the rug. Other than that, I think Season 4 left the characters in a perfectly good place in terms of shipping.
