Yeah. I guess it can't be helped, what with people drastically changing how they watch TV. But I miss being able to watch stuff where you can drop in and out and watch episodes out of order without being totally lost.

Agreed. Not every episode needs to automatically advance the main storyline. Sometimes it's nice to just have a bit of downtime or a one-off fun episode every now and again or something, too.

And there's some shows where serialized storytelling just isn't going to work as well for the type of show in question, the way it might for other shows. Or they might do well at having short story arcs throughout the show's run, instead of one big overarching plot. I think the creators should take that into consideration when coming up with shows or storylines or whatever, too.
