Re: TV Talk - Law and Order: SVU (SPOILERS)
(Anonymous) 2018-02-10 03:48 am (UTC)(link)Rafael Barba deserved so much better than this character assassination followed by a goodbye filled with cliches, and only a goodbye to one of the main characters (although I'm glad they at least acknowledged how much he and Liv meant to each other in SOME way).

Re: TV Talk - Law and Order: SVU (SPOILERS)
(Anonymous) 2018-02-10 04:12 am (UTC)(link)Then in this past episode, out of nowhere, they introduce a previously unmentioned plot element about his personal conflict surrounding his father and "right to die" issues and use that to justify his making the decision to PULL THE PLUG on an INFANT's life support - to physically do it himself, not just say find a way for the mother to do it, or something like that.
He was tried for murder and found not guilty, but then left his position anyway, only saying that he "had to move on" as a reason or an answer as to what he's doing next.
He had a pretty sweet moment with Liv in the end where he all but confessed his love to her, and kissed her (on the forehead).
But aside from that moment, it was an insulting farewell to a much loved character. :/

Re: TV Talk - Law and Order: SVU (SPOILERS)
(Anonymous) 2018-02-10 04:30 am (UTC)(link)I wish he'd gotten to say goodbye to the other characters, but I did like his last scene with Olivia. In the end I liked that the exact nature of their relationship was sort of ambiguous. I mean, on some level I kind of shipped them, but at the same time, male/female friendships that don't eventually turn romantic are pretty rare so I always appreciate them.
But as sad as I am about him leaving, I'm hoping that at least some of the misogynistic vitriol directed at Olivia by some of his fans will stop.
Re: TV Talk - Law and Order: SVU (SPOILERS)
(Anonymous) 2018-02-10 04:33 am (UTC)(link)And I wasn't aware people were being hateful toward her. :/ That's not at all okay.
I just wish he was still gonna be on the show. I hate to lose him, he's my favorite - and I hate the way they did it. :(
Re: TV Talk - Law and Order: SVU (SPOILERS)
(Anonymous) 2018-02-10 04:47 am (UTC)(link)Yep! I always went back and forth between shipping them and liking them as friends, so I think the way it was done was perfect.
Yeah, there's one site that has a bunch of "she's a fat ugly old bitch and he's too good for her" bullshit that I'm hoping will stop now.
Same. :( I mean, I like the other characters well enough, but he was my favorite, too. The show will definitely not be the same without him. I'm also not happy about his replacement. I didn't like the couple episodes of Chicago Justice I watched and I don't particularly like that character.
