If you don't want to watch the show anymore, fine, but don't talk about things being an insult to the fans unless they actively involve someone insulting the fans. It's so hyperbolic.

Actually, the showrunners all but openly admitted racism was behind their decision to deep-six Karolsen, so it was an insult.

By Kara repeatedly saying that Mon-el is the first person she's ever loved or been in a relationship with.

NAYRT, but the second part is technically true. She and James were never actually in a relationship. They were about to get to that point when the writers did an abrupt 180 on it.

I sympathize. I wasn't a fan of the pairing, but the way they ended it was one of the most awkwardly written things ever. I mean, you spent a whole season on the pairing - you could have tried a little harder to find a graceful way out of it if you didn't think it was working.

I was under the impression that Supergirl was in love with that lady from Merlin.

Fandom wishful thinking only.

I wish. Supergirl and Merlin Lady is an actual interesting relationship with genuine care and support for each other. Plus miles more chemistry than “argue-argue-argue”.

But neither of them is hunky.

I've kept watching but I totally understand you. It was very jarring. They built up their potential romantic relationship all troughout the first season, played the "will they won't they" card to a t. Finally, they kissed and were about to go on a date. And then, they weren't ?

It didn't help that, in spite of being a fan of James/Kara, I was still ready to love Mon-El/Kara but ended very disapointed by the weird timing of this relationship as well. It seems they weren't in love, then they were. Again, for some reason. So the pairing ended being just "meh" for me, wich is sad because I wanted to be enthusiastic about it.

But at least, now that Mon-El is out of the equation, maybe James and Kara could rebuild something. Also, I'm not holding my breath. And yes, I love Lena/Kara too.

Not convinced Mon-El is permanently out of the equation yet.

AYRT : I'm a bit behind so it's possible. I'm not against Mon-El/Kara per se, I just hope I'll feel for it more the second time (I think an issue is also that I'm verging on indifference towards Mon-El. I'm a bit anxious to see how the Supergirl writers will handle the fact that he's married now. I don't want his wife to be a sacrificial lamb (be it by dying/by being sent to another dimension on or by turning evil). But, wether Kara and Mon-El comes back together I really don't want neither Kara & James nor Kara & Winn relationships to be completely neglected. I was rooting for Kara & James because they have all the foundation of a profond friendship (with a romantic attraction on both part).

I haven't seen it. I'm so far out of the loop that I saw a femslash gifset and thought they'd actually made Kara gay.

I did the same thing actually. I didn't know I was wrong until now. Oops. Too bad.

Honest to god, the wait they wrote the end of the Kara/James relationship was one of the most painful, awkward relationship sinks I’ve ever seen. And also ironically how decently written S2 was going to be.

It was so fucking obvious they broke them up from for a Kara/Mon-El romance. I didn’t really care for Kara/James, but it was cute and nice so the way they broke up already didn’t endear me towards Mon-El.

I agree. It was absolutely insulting to our intelligence and to the characters. I stuck around further into the season, but despite the really good stuff with Alex and Maggie, the rest of the show (well not Lena, she rocks) became unwatchable. And Mono literally gave me hives.

Same here. I'm still sad about it because I liked Kara as a character, but I couldn't stand to see her in that relationship, much less being so utterly broken up about it to the extent that it was her whole arc for a while (she knew him for, what, a few months?)
