I haven't seen the BBC version in so long I can't tell if that's it just from that one shot but I definitely do remember the BBC version not being loyal to the books in several points, especially Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

I can't stand this show (I only sat through 1 episode), but my husband loves it. So he watches the series for me, and then shows me each Poe scene so I don't miss anything..

Not any more ridiculous than me having to buy an $80+ cable package to watch HBO? Maybe it's because I haven't had cable in a decade, but I'm totally fine paying ~$8/mo for a service that has content I definitely want. If you could cancel once they're not making any more episodes of your show, why not?
