which changes did you think were for the better?

I think having more of an overarching plot for Dawntreader worked well for a movie. The episodic nature of the book I don't think translated so well to a movie. I think aging up Caspian a bit worked well (for a movie, anyway, because then you can use the same actor for Dawntreader so people can see a character they remember).

It has been a while since I watched either set, so I'd have to watch to remember, but I'm pretty sure there were some other changes I actually liked.

tHE Disney one added a female character for Lucy to talk to. They showed Lucy's warrior side, in the sense that she picks up weaqpons and fights, which the audience was otherwise possibly never going to see, bc it's doubtful Horse and His Boy will ever get filmed. They showed rather than told, what Susan was up to during that time. They better explained what Aslan meant when he scolded Lucy for wanting to be prettier. They dealt with Edmund's lingering dark side (which I know some people think misses the point but...)

I do really like the BBC's Silver Chair though, especially since the reboot is trapped in Development Hell.
