Yeah-- I mean, some people might just transfer emotions from one character to another because of the same face, but in my experience, it's more about 'I discovered I loved X because of Y, and now I've been watching their other performances and they always bring something special to the role'. Different people have different actors that they see that something special in, and it's easy to feel like it's just fangirling when the actor is also classically handsome (I mean... I've felt that way before about some much-lauded performances by fan favorites too, I get it), but I don't think it's always about that.

(One of my favorite actors does tend to be my favorite character in everything he's in-- despite playing some loathsome ones-- just because he brings a huge depth to even the WORST characters, or those who seem one-dimensional at first blush, and it's really inspiring to me as someone who's studied the craft. He's not remotely classically handsome but he has individual features that... would be pretty on someone else's face? Like he is clearly a character actor, so he takes some odd, interesting roles and does a lot with them despite often having limited screen time)

I don't really keep up with entertainment news but I'm wondering who this is.

Same. I was thinking of Mads Mikkelsen, but he doesn't have limited screen time.
