Lol, how did you separate the yolk? I can't imagine doing it the way I do it with regular eggs (between the two halves, between the fingers, or water bottle).

To be honest, after I prized off the top part I'd sawn off, I pretty much used my fingers to reach in and hold back the massive yolk while pouring the white passed my fingers. Extreeeemely sloppy, but effective. The kids watching were equal parts impressed and totally disgusted.

well, the kid's aren't mine, but yeah, it certainly was a bit gross - worth it, though - and entertaining! We'll see how long it takes before their parents let 'em come for crazy project day again - especially now that I've delivered ridiculously rich cake to their families. I am an eccentric neighbor and mine is an evil laugh.
