Ok i was the anon who made the comment "Like just make a fucking apple pie jfc" on the previous gbbo secret and troll secret or no, i would've taken any kind of fruit pie, or pecan pie, or pumpkin pie, or just some kind of pie with an actual top crust on it.

And yes, apple pies are quintessentially american even if british people eat them too. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. And it's kind of ridiculous for a british person to be complaining about food appropriation or what have you when britain took their only decent cuisine from Asia.

No. They are only quintessentially American TO AMERICANS. No one in Britain claims curries are British. They may be commonly eaten but we all know they're Indian cuisine and are eaten in India too.

It's pretty arrogant to assume other cultures would view it as 'quintessentially Amerixan' JUST BECAUSE YOU DO.

Okay, but the challenge was make an American pie, and if Americans consider apple pies to be quintessentially american then apple pies ARE american, which means it would be well within the brief to make one. So... stay mad i guess?

Wow. No.

I'm sorry, but you seem very thick. Apple pies being quintessentially American to Americans doesn't disqualify their inclusion in a round where the theme is American pies. In fact it rather supports their inclusion.

I thought 'because I say it is!!!' was an argument only school kids thought worked.

No. And no.

...Didn't you say you were done?
