Re: Times you knew people were lying or not totally honest

This is kind of sad but I was in an older fandom that had a lot of older women in it, say 30s and 40s and beyond. One in particular did up her FFnet bio page like a Tinder profile (although Tinder did not exist back then, LOL) with her... sexual likes/dislikes? She kind of went full rawwwwwr mama cougar on it with weird flirty comments and an attempt at a sexy pic of herself with cleavage and I just kept wondering... who on earth is this for? She was specifically advertising for a younger man though she at least said he had to be 18 minimum. Everything she said made it sound like she was a single MILF with no kids.

But I knew a bit about her from other circles and she was in her 40s, going through an ugly separation/divorce, with two young children. She also internet stalked several of the BNFs' journals, did that thing where she acted like people she barely knew were her new best friends, that kind of thing. When she was banned for creeping, she'd pop up with a new sockpuppet and try the whole new best friend thing all over again and she didn't realize her IP address gave her away. It was more pathetic than creepy and I figured she must be extremely lonely to behave like that.
