What are your favorite and least favorite character design changes? From any medium!

Best: Long haired Thor to short haired Thor.
Worst: What happened to Loki's hair as the movies continued.

Good: Steve Roger's beard in Infinity War. But not great because I love Steve Rogers as anything.

Bad: Chris Redfield's look from RE5 to RE7. Also, Leon Kennedy from RE4 to RE6.

There are only two character designs I've really disliked.

I dislike nearly every single thing Blizzard did with Kil'jaeden in Legion. Changed the character model, changed the voice actor, and nerfed his overall villainy to "he had hurt feelings for 25,000 years." I know I am nearly alone in this opinion—many fans creamed themselves over the changes—but I was extremely fond (not the right word, but it'll have to do) of BC-era KJ.

Also, even though it's canon, I hate that Kurumada gave Aries Shion short hair in the Next Dimension manga. Much prefer my Shion with the glorious, waist-length cascade he had in Hades:Sanctuary and Lost Canvas.

The outfit changes in RWBY, I pretty much universally like - especially Yang's prosthetic arm.

I loved when they slimmed down Superman a few years back, and it kind of annoys me that they've brought him back to the wall of muscle design. (I'm theoretically agnostic about his costume - don't really care about the collar, trunks, extended sleeves, or lack of any of the above...not even the jeans and tee outfit he wore before getting the costume. All look fine. But I hate that they've reverted to the old costume, for various reasons ranging from the petty to the overthinking.)

Best: Nezumi in No. 6, manga/anime compared to the novels. Whine as much as you like, the ponytail was a godsend.

Worse: Skywise in Elfquest during the latter part of Final Quest. Both the crystal headpiece and the rest of it.

ETA: HOW COULD I FORGET SUNSTREAM'S "WAVEDANCER FORM" oh god my eyes bleed everytime I have to look at it

I really hated the way they drew the "humanized" ponies. the name of the show is My Little Pony, not My Anorexic Hooker!!

Worst: Thor's short hair, Phoebe's super short hair in later Charmed season (can't remember which one, maybe 6?)
Best: Various look changes on Buffy, Natasha's Avengers 1 look compared to Iron Man 2, Janeway's shorter hair in later seasons

Favorite: Thor's Ragnarök/Infinity War hair, Loki's Thor 1 hair, Natasha's Avengers hair, Steve's Infinity War beard, Korra's Book 4 hair, Team Aqua and Magma's ORAS redesigns

Worst: Loki's Avengers hair and some of his Ragnarök hair (sometimes it's fine, but other times it's either looks wet and stringy or poorly curled), Natasha's post Avengers hair, downgrading Archie and Maxie back to their RSE designs in USUM

Riker: least = before the beard, favorite = beard.

Deanna Troi: least = anything that wasn't a normal Starfleet uniform, favorite: normal uniform.

Worf: least = fabric sash and shorter hair that looked like a woman's style from the 50s, favorite: woven metal and leather sash + long hair. I think I preferred the DS9 red uniform to TNG yellow on him, as well.

WORST: DC is a repeat offender. Starfire (from cute kid to, idk, pornstar??? ugh), Amanda fucking Waller (comics version, her film counterpart was pretty good), Harley Quinn in the Arkham games.
BEST: Not *character* design per say, but one of the few changes I like about the Potter films is how everyone wears a black robe in school vs the robes in books where I understand they look colorful, kinda how they went with the Quidditch robes in the film. You can't really tell what house someone belongs to in the film, but I loved that everyone looks equal and unified, in a sense. Like they're actually school robes.

Best: Rodimus' plot-related color-change in Lost Light. Yes, I liked the fiery colors, but at the same time--I think the darker color scheme kind of feels...symbolic of him maturing all the more even when people think he's still a giant robotic manchild.

Worst: ...Maxie's glasses (with the Mega Stone) in ORAS. I understand the utility but...they're so WEIRD and OFF-looking. Maybe it's because I actually have glasses and Maxie's glasses look so UNCOMFORTABLE to wear.

Because i have a half-dozen fic notifications sitting in my inbox, all post-Infinity War stories I can't read yet. And Infinity War stuff all over the place I'm dodging like a crazy person.

I WILL SEE THIS MOVIE IN FOUR DAYS!! MUST. BE. STRONG!!!!!

This is all kinda nutty, but in a really fun way. :)

I was on an internet break to avoid Infinity War spoilers so I didn't get to post my usual weekend plans post.

How was everyone's weekend? What do you all get up to?

I went and saw IW Saturday night. It was awesome. My theater had a delicious mixed drink called the Mad Titan. Afterwards my group went to eat delicious half price appetizers so we didn't get home until midnight. I also found out my sister is pregnant with her second child.
