(Anonymous) 2018-05-06 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)I cut processed sugar out of my diet and now I eat pretty much constantly. I lost 85lbs in two years and have kept it off another two years. I hate counting calories because it meant starving myself and not losing weight or not improving my health.
Re: What are your favorite low calorie snacks?
I am going to go buy some brown paper bags and kernels sometime this week!

(Anonymous) 2018-05-06 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)Also if you have a sweet tooth and like fruit get some miracle berry tablets. Miracle berries are native to parts of Africa where people eat a lot of sourish fermented grain pancakes and porridges and stuff. The berries contain a chemical that blocks the receptors for sour tastes on your tongue for 1/2 hour to 2 hours after eating them, so you taste sugar in fruit and unsweetened yogurt and so on that is usually masked by sourness.
Even lemons taste like lemonade, although I only tried that once because straight lemon juice isn’t exactly stomach friendly. It makes most fruit taste like fruit candy. I haven’t had any luck growing the plants—they like consistent warmth, humidity, and acid soil—but I buy tablets made from the freeze-dried fruit off Amazon every year for stocking stuffers. They’re kind of expensive, but if you only use one once a week to get a sugar fix in, it’s not that pricey.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-06 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)I'm really into cool whip lately (1/2 cup = 100). It's sweet but light. Sometimes I dollop it into tea or dip berries in it. Or eat it like ice cream. (I really like dairy.)
Also into those 0 cal flavored, carbonated waters.
Soup is pretty low cal. Sometimes I microwave a half cup of chicken broth and add a very small handful of goldfish crackers to it.

(Anonymous) 2018-05-08 07:19 am (UTC)(link)Also, thinly sliced apples or pears with a little cheese and ham.
Clementines go nicely with a couple of shortbread cookies or those Biscoff cinnamon wafers. I also like Anna's ginger or almond cookies--they're very thin, but the flavor is intense, so you can nibble them for a long time.
Strawberries are going to be perfect soon. Best is to pick your own if you can get them.
I've made water ices with honeydew, watermelon (with mint) and pink grapefruit--all delicious and refreshing.
