The state being that networks cancel shows that don't have as many viewers? That has been happening since the beginning of time.

I don't know how true it is, but I've seen people say it's less because of viewership and more because Disney is updating the channel to fit their brand.

The sense that I get is that it's a brand positioning thing from Fox, yes, but I'm not sure it's necessarily a Disney mandate

like... I don't really see how the Fox decisions actually fit into the Disney brand, I guess is my problem

The deal isn't even finalized, is it? It could still be stopped.

I just didn't think 99 did strong numbers. Having a double block of Last Man Standing to segway into your local right-wing news show (and I mean, local) is a perfect setup for Fox.

That would be my assumption, yeah

99 does a lot better on catchup/ streaming and maybe Fox is less interested in those numbers!

Disney doesn't won Fox yet (and may never own it). Also, I am 90% sure they are not buying Fox's TV shows, just their movie properties.

Googled it. Disney is not buying the shows.

"21st Century Fox will spinoff Fox Broadcasting Co., Fox Sports, Fox News, Fox Television Stations and a handful of other assets into a new company that will have revenue of $10 billion and earnings of about $2.8 billion. The 20th Century Fox lot in Century City will also remain with the spinoff Fox company."

Yes, exactly. And Disney literally can't buy Fox's TV properties because of FCC regulations.
