Literally zero of those people have checked back in a week being like "so where's the more I demanded from you that you owe me, slave?"

You're lucky, then. I actually have had people come back to comment again demanding a sequel to that fic I wrote, or pestering me in the comments on other fics about why I'm wasting my time with [series I love/ship I love/fandom I love] and not writing more for [(closed) series they want/ship they want/fandom they want]. It's not hugely common, but it happened enough when I was writing in particularly wanky and divided fandoms that comments that are just "OMG MORE" or "I DEMAND U WRITE MORE" put my back up, because this commenter is probably a perfectly reasonable human who was just expressing enthusiasm, but maybe they're not and I'm going to come back from vacation to find increasingly strident demands that I write this thing they want immediately.

I'm sure not everyone who's put off by that kind of comment has actually attracted demanding assholes in the past, but there are enough of them out there that I wouldn't be remotely surprised to find that any given writer has.

I've had more than one person message-stalk me to write more fic (after leaving "more" comments on a fic) and I have just rolled my eyes and ignored it.

I'm just glad anyone interacts with my fics at all; I'm not about to dictate how they are. I may personally find it irritating, but I'm not going to complain about it out there.
