The loud, obnoxious male OT fans only make up a small percentage of the audiences for TFA and TLJ though. And they HATED TLJ but that still made a boatload of money. And actually a bunch of them really liked Solo, so I'm not really sure what you're on about.

Disney massively under marketed this and it's just been six months since TLJ. Star Wars fatigue is the biggest culprit and it's better for Disney and Star Wars in the long run that audiences skipped this one off origin story instead of burning themselves out on the franchise when there's more to come.
