OP again and fuck I just realized this is how Republicans get to keep the waverering evangelicals who objected to putting toddlers in cages—promise the repeal of Roe vs Wade. Fuck. Shit. Fucking damn it all to hell argh.

Evangelicals will be happy about it, but on the other hand, once the nominee is on the Supreme Court, what reason do they have left to vote? They got there.

Obviously, this still sucks massively, but I have a hard time believing that it's going to actually increase evangelical turnout

AYRT—no, I thought maybe the baby-cages would keep a few evangelicals from voting Republican in the midterms, but if SCOTUS overturns Roe vs Wade, they’ll be willing to forget all about a bunch of little brown babies.

So first they have to get the nomination of someone. Then they have to work through the inevitable fight about confirmation.

THEN there still has to be a case (is there one?) to work its way through the courts and then go to the SC for them to make a legal decision that would overturn the previous legal decision.

It's highly unlikely all of that will happen between now and November.
