Chris Hardwick... which side do you believe?

I'm not a fan or an anti, I don't really know his work at all. I'm just genuinely curious what people think.

I don't care much. However, I will side with Hardwick until his accuser brings forth this solid evidence she has.

What kind of evidence would you consider legitimate proof?

Whatever she says she has to prove it. SHE said she had proof. So, I want her to bring it out.

I don't know or care who either of them are (other than, "oh, that's the dude with the annoying face I skip past during commercial breaks") so I sincerely don't give a shit either way.

I don't know. I haven't investigated anything in depth, and who I believe isn't going to affect anything about my life whatsoever.

My general attitude is that, in the absence of specific reasons to the contrary, things like this are more likely than not to be true. That's not to be so strong as saying that I absolutely believe it to be true - it's just my rule of thumb. But I also get the feeling like somebody is going to yell at me for saying that, so *shrug*

Considering that Chloe has always brought drama upon herself even before she and Chris were dating, I take her allegations with a large grain of salt. Like someone else said, she needs to show us the proof that she claims she has. Sure, a lot of it sounds like manipulation and a shitty relationship, but I don't believe there was assault.

I'm not a fan of either of them but it's kind of interesting to watch it all unfold.

This is one of those cases where I'll believe it when she shows off her proof. As it is we know the facts are

-They were in a shitty relationship
-She cheated on him
-He broke up with her
-His wife and 3 ex-gfs have come out in his defense
-Jaimie Alexander's been friends with him since before he was with Chloe, says she knows private details about the relationship and is publicly supporting him
-His MIL pretty much called Chloe a lying snake on twitter
-Chloe is a floundering star who could really use some sympathy points and a quick popularity boost from the #metoo movement

It feels kind of weird to list his wife's, MIL's, and friend's defense of him as positive evidence on his side. I feel like those are the people that I would naturally expect to defend him whether or not he had done something wrong. It's not the kind of thing that I would really consider strong evidence one way or the other, you know?

I don't know anything about the broader situation and I'm not saying anything about whether or not he's guilty, IDEK, I was just kind of confused about that one specific part of your post

Well, I don't think they're really "evidence". But it's six women saying he's definitely not a creep (and Jaimie to the extent that she's putting her professional reputation on the line) and that her story doesn't line up.

Like, generally creepers creep. It's what they do. There's rumors about them, multiple victims, they have a bad reputation, whatever. People have known that Weinstein and Cosby were scum for decades, for example. Same thing with Louis CK or any of these other guys.

I haven't been able to find any dirt on Hardwick. All I've seen is a bunch of women saying he's definitely not an asshole, vs one woman who cheated him and has a widespread reputation as a drama factory.

He could totally be a piece of shit, idk, I'm waiting for Chloe to show off the proof she said she had.

NA

I gotta say, that seems like absolute horseshit evidence to me. I don't think it's correct to require the existence of rumors or multiple victims before you believe allegations. That does not seem like a good standard, to me. It seems to me that, most likely, abusive people can operate in different ways.

I'm also not sure what her adultery would have to do with whether or not she's a victim. People who do bad things can still be victims, and committing adultery doesn't justify abuse.

That's how I see it, anyway, but what the heck do I know.

Personally I don't believe any celeb allegations until there's actually some sort of evidence to back them up, whether that's multiple victims or something concrete like they went to the police when it happened. Celebrities have a hell of a lot to gain by making false claims against each other, without having to deal with a lot of the personal risks us peons have to deal with when we speak out about our experiences.

Her cheating doesn't justify abuse, but it does make me less inclined to trust anything that she says bc she's demonstrably shown herself to be an untrustworthy liar.
