Oh, just in time. Books or movies that already have relatively dramatic themes, and decide to throw in cancer or AIDS or some other deathly illness as well.

I mean, I get why - adulthood is sucky and bad things happen all at once. Sadly, I know that more than I ever have. But it's fiction. Choose a few shitty things to carry out the plot and then carry on. Also, why is illness so popular? I can't be the only person who wants less of that in their fiction when it's been so present in their real life.

Hard same. I've lost so many people to cancer, I just have to sigh when it shows up in plots where I wasn't expecting it.

I found simply throwing around every swear word you know hilarious in seventh grade. Now, I prefer humor to be a little more nuanced. Two f-bombs would have sufficed.

This...I recently watched a movie where 99% of the comedy is "THESE RELIGIOUS PEOPLE ARE SWEARING" and ok but the funniest bits were them doing things that were not becoming but not OTT like that.

This is one of the things that turned me off of "Bad Santa." The rest of the movie doesn't bother me, but the constant, multiple f-bombs in a row just made me roll my eyes. Oddly, the worst kind of foul language doesn't bother me at all. It's just the repeated use just kills any humor it might hold in a scene.

“Cringe” viral videos of actual people doing something embarrassing. They did not deserve to have the entire Internet laugh at their embarrassment.

Especially as you have no idea what other people's backstory is. Some people say stupid things that look really bad out of context, when if you know the person you get that they meant well. Some people have disabilities or disorders that aren't immediately obvious. You have no idea.

Besides, even ignoring those extremes, I think all of us have said or done something that would be incredibly damning if caught on film. We all have bad days where we say or do things we normally wouldn't say or do.

Or even worse: those "hilarious" home videos where people get into situations that look like they actually really hurt/couldn't have resulted in no injuries. Especially when they feature children. Those things have been around far too long already.

Oh I hate those, along with 'funny' videos that are of people getting hurt, sometimes in serious ways. Like slapstick isn't my kind of humour anyway but I really don't understand how seeing someone get hurt really bad is funny. It just makes me wince.

It's even worse when they label their videos "severe autism" or whatever.

It's bad enough that parents film nonverbal autistic people with extensive care needs having self injurious meltdowns or smearing poop on a wall - stuff they would never put up if the person wasn't disabled - because those parents misrepresent autism enough as it is.

Cringe videos with labels that mock the most vulnerable autistic people in the autistic community is a double wide carton of bullshit and the video makers are jackasses.

There's a line I think in comedy where something goes from being observational:

eg. young people rely on technology but many have no proficiency with something most older people knew how to do at their age

to being ignorant of the current economic crisis (in my country at least):

eg. young people complain about not being able to afford housing when they get paid more than we did
(the cost of living has risen far more than the average wage has and the percentage of young people who are homeless has also risen, unsurprisingly)

Depends on the audience and delivery. I don't think anything should be entirely off limits but there's circumstances where it'd be in poor taste. Like, dead baby jokes are fine but don't tell one to someone who doesn't like shock humor.

Comedy that mostly consists of bodily functions. Comedy that mostly consists of making fun of ethnicities or 'types'. Really gross stuff like torture porn.
