Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan, the foreigner who out-Vored the Vor by going on a "shopping trip" to the capital during a civil war and returning with both her unborn son and the usurper's head.

Still have a soft spot for FemShep, even though Bioware writing can be a bit of a train wreck.

Charlotte "Chuck" Charles from Pushing Daisies. I like how she was flawed - she was an extreme optimist and wanted to help everyone, but she had bad habits of steamrolling other peoples' opinions and being stubborn in her beliefs. I like how she had good intentions and cared but wasn't perfect.

Any of the Leverage women. I saw someone describe that show as "competency kink," and that's so true. Everyone is the best at what they do.

Amy Santiago and Rosa Diaz on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Again, smart, competent ladies. They're good at their jobs, even if Amy is a huge nerd and Rosa would rather die than open up emotionally. I like that episodes continue to show that they're friends, too, despite their differences.

My One Piece favorite ladies are Robin, Vivi, Dadan, Koala, Viola, Otohime, Boa Hancock, Tsuru (the old Marine not the new character introduced last week), and Shakky, for wildly varying reasons. Robin is all around amazing for being smart and powerful but also has that weird troll side of her that amuses me greatly. Vivi is a well-rounded character and I know she'll make a great queen. Dadan is the bestest old sassy bitch who raised the boys I mean come on she's been through a lot. Koala kicks ass, takes names, and has a lovely dynamic with Sabo. Viola is so underrated as a character because she's clever, intelligent, cautious, and still loving. I love Otohime for getting drunk off her ass and berating her entire country on the radio. Boa Hancock's schtick sometimes gets super-old but there's no denying she's powerful, capable, and important. Tsuru is still fucking powerful at her age and runs a crew of all women! And Shakky is just sassbutt I mean you can't not like an ex-pirate like her. Hell, for that matter, let's throw Kureha in for the same reason, being old and badass.

Special honorable mentions to Makino, Kokoro, Scarlet, Baby 5, and Shirahoshi, mostly because in their own situations they are/were great people. Honestly the only female characters I don't like are the villains, because even if some of them are truly badass, I'm just not into villains.

Misato from Evangelion is one of my favorite characters OF ALL TIME (and Asuka, and Ritsuko. Basically EVA has amazing characters)

Morrigan from Dragon Age. I really love her progression throughout DAO and how rewarding becoming her friend feels.

Tifa from Final Fantasy 7. There's just so much I could say about how deeply flawed she is as a person, and how fucked up her actions are, and how sympathetic she still manages to be. But that would be spoilers.

There's more but I'm tired.

Sam from SG-1, she's great and was around during my formative years so I think she's the reason I love sciency ladies in media so much. But I loved how she was a badass in both mental and physical aspects.

Maia from Shadowhunters, I love how she doesn't take anyone's shit.

Wonder Woman, she kicks all the ass but is still compassionate, loving and has a huge heart.

Shuri, she's adorable and so smart. See my aforementioned love of smart-ladies.

Okoye is absolutely kick-ass and steals every scene she's in. Even in Infinity Wars, I was grinning from ear-to-ear at all her moments.

Cersei Lannister, she is the absolute worst person oh my god, and I love her for it. She definitely thinks she's smarter than she is but people absolutely underestimate her spite and how much it motivates her, I mean really people should stop letting her live when they cross her, it never ends well.

I really like Jane in the Thor movies, mostly in Thor 1 as we got to see the fire and drive she has and I really admired it.

Uhura from ToS and the nu!Trek movies, I once again like how smart she at languages.

Gamora and Nebula from GoTG, I love their complicated relationship and I find them both compelling for similar(both broken in their own way) and different reasons(Gamora is trying to run from Thanos, Nebula isn't quite sure what she wants aside from killing him).

Storm from X-Men, when I was younger it was because her power-set was amazing and she looks absolutely stunning. As an adult it's still that but also how confident and emotionally strong she is. She knows her self-worth and doesn't let anyone pull her down.

Bulma from DBZ, because she's utterly headstrong, vain, arrogant as fuck, and smart as hell.

Mulan for being scared of going to war but still doing so because she couldn't bear the thought of her father dying instead. She's endlessly brave and it's wonderful.

Evie from the Mummy, she's smart, capable and utterly adorable despite maybe accidentally endangering the world in the first movie. But really I love her.

There's definitely more than I've listed here, but this is all I've got from the top of my head atm.

She's such a bad ass. Super rich adventurer, dual pistols, zero fucks attitude. Love everything about it.

i'm always... somethinged by the fact that my two favourite female characters are a) lesbians and b) dead largely because of the whim of a writer

but yeah, tara maclay (seeing red is the second biggest steaming load of shit ever committed to a tv screen) and naomi campbell (skins fire is the biggest) - in both cases it's mostly about the relatability of their respective personal crises; tara's desperation to break out of the shadows she's spent her life in, naomi determinedly locking her heart away to make sure it can't get trampled on

There's something that I kind of want to make a secret about but it's ~problematic~ and the last time I made a similar secret, I got a bunch of people giving me shit over it so I'm not sure I want to.
