Re: Fandom gripes
(Anonymous) 2018-08-09 12:13 am (UTC)(link)In fact, they suck so mightily I was briefly afraid the suction would pull me through my phone screen into a land of badly photoshoped covers and poorly written Phantom of the Opera ripoffs. My library is paying a company subscription fees for shitty fanfic. I’ve read a lot of Phantom of the Opera fanfic, and this isn’t the good stuff. One of the covers apparently involved someone photoshopping a stock model’s face to have a white bit around one eye for the “mask.” The writing was worse than the Photoshop job.
If I wanted bad Phantom of the Opera fanfic or generic “hot asshole is called Beastly for his behavior” romance novels, I’d go read them. I may as well go read good BatB, PotO, or Rumbelle fanfic instead.
