Full disclosure: I once tagged a post of Rose/Paige with the tag "they killed the wrong sister" about a week before Kelly Marie Tran was hounded off Instagram and FUCK do I feel guilty about it (obviously my post wasn't directed at her, it was just a tag on my Tumblr which is followed by about twelve people, but still...)

That said, I can see why some might prefer one sister over the other: the fact that Paige died so quickly yet so bravely gives a viewer more scope for imagination. It was such a powerful, dramatic scene. By comparison, I never really got much from Rose, and Rian Johnson's explanation that he just came up with her because he needed someone for Finn to bounce off of when he went to the casino helped make sense of that.

As someone who is constantly stanning allllll the barely on-screen, usually tragic characters, I really do get it. But I'm not going to claim that my minor-ass snookum and the mountain of headcanon I made up for them are better than what the writers actually came up with, even if what they came up with is not to my liking.
