I was surprised that I enjoyed Game of Thrones so much. I am honestly not a huge fan of fantasy or period media.

I may be one of the few people out there who genuinely enjoyed the recent Peter Rabbit movie. I didn't think it was bad or trite at all.

I went to Tomorrowland thinking oh another dumb Disney movie, I'm just going to ogle Hugh Laurie but I wound up liking it a lot.

My mom invited me to come with her to see Moulin Rouge. I had heard of it but had no idea it was a musical or, you know, completely wacky, so halfway through the "So Exciting" number I just started giggling because it was turning out so much better than I expected.

Years ago a fandom friend talked me into trying Saint Seiya and Berserk. I didn't think I'd like either of them, but the characters really hooked me.

More recently, Elementary and Jupiter Ascending surpassed my expectations.

Finally saw the finale. Yeah, that was a 'the series is over' finale if I ever saw one, but still good!

BUT - but but but (here come the SPOILERS)

If the new season does come to pass, there will be not only no more Jasper, but *no more Monty either*, which just sucks.

At least we still have Octavia *omg i love her, Octavia taking a knee, omfg!!!* and Murphy, yay!

And, sadly, Abby and Clarke. Blech.

Most clothes items. I find cheep clothes don't last long. Only buy the cheep stuff as items you don't mind getting dirty/torn/etc.

Finally cleaning/organizing my bedroom after ... well, who am I kidding, I never really organized it in the first place which is the problem. So after hours and hours of sorting through things and recycling/donating/tossing what I no longer need, and trying to sort what I DO still ned and want into various piles... well, it looks messier than when I started. And even though I know intellectually that this is actually progress and with just a day more of elbow greese it'll actually work... emotionally, I am at the point where I just want to cry and shove everything into the nearest drawer so that it LOOKS clean again.

Upright styles are nice. I like seeing trees that don't look as though they've been battered by wind and struck by lightning. They make me feel peaceful.

But I like cascades and pines as well - they may me think of my hill-walking days in Scotland. They're pretty difficult to manage. :/

Maples are lovely - a surprising mix of delicate and vigorous. Not really suited to growing in Australia but I have three! We do get brilliant autumn colour with them here. I have to shield them from the worst of the summer sun, and water them twice a day if necessary.

Last month I had to write a multi-stanza haiku for my writing group exercise. I ended up doing one for each tree. They're pretty inspiring. I hope you have fun with yours!
